Dickinson Refinery Transmission Substation
PROJECT INFO
The Dickinson Refinery Transmission Substation is being constructed for Montana-Dakota Utilities and will help to serve the Tesoro Dickinson Refinery. There was over 600 cubic yards of concrete on this project. Along with the concrete scope of work, this substation includes (3) - 115-4.16k/2.4V transformers, as well as (6) - 115kV Power Circuit Breakers. Also installed at the Dickinson Refinery Transmission Substation: (16) - 115kV GOAB disconnect switches (Vertical Break), (2) - 115kV GOAB Switches (Vee Center Break), (3) - 15kV GOAB disconnect switches (Vertical Break), (4) - 15kV hook switches, (18) - 115kV voltage transformers, (9) - 5kV voltage transformers, (9) - 5kV current transformers, (2) - station service transformers, erect steel structures, and install the control house. Other scopes of work included: electrical rigid & strain buses, below grade cable trench, below grade and above grade conduit and grounding, power and control cable installation, termination of power and control cable, station lighting, and lightning protection. Construction started in Aug. of 2019 and will be completed by mid February 2020. The Dickinson Refinery Transmission Substation will be energized towards the end of February.
